Anchoring the Ethics of AI and Data in Educational practices
The ETH-TECH Project is pleased to announce a Contest for the Creation of Visual Cards illustrating key concepts related to the ethics of educational technology. This competition is open to all university students enrolled in creative, artistic, design, media, and education disciplines across Europe.

Objective of the Contest
The aim of this contest is to develop a series of 10 visual cards, each representing one of the key concepts from the Eth-Tech Perspective framework. These cards will serve as educational tools to foster understanding and discussion about the ethical dimensions of technology in education.
Contest Details
Who can participate?
The call is open to university students across Europe who are enrolled in creative, artistic, design, media, or education disciplines. Eligible participants must be master’s students: graduating or recent graduates.
Submissions can be made individually or collectively, with teams of up to 3 participants.
Which are the submission requirements?
Each participant is invited to create one visual card for each of the 10 key concepts listed below. Each card should include:
- An original visual representation of the term.
- A brief explanation of the concept in your own words (maximum 150 words).
- A description of the creative process:
- If AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, DALL·E) are used, explain how they were integrated and provide the prompts used.
- If the work is entirely handcrafted, describe the materials and ideas that informed the creation.

Submission Guidelines
Which is the type of format you should use?
Each visual card should be submitted as a high-resolution image file (JPEG or PNG, minimum 1080×1080 pixels). The accompanying text should be in PDF or DOCX format.
And what about the deadline?
Submissions must be sent by 07/07/2025 at 1:00 p.m. (CEST) via this form: https://unipadova.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6lDlVZzaApMv4Hk

How should you prepare your work?
You will find all instruction within the form. Particularly relevant is the approach to anonymise your work.
Awards and Recognition
What recognition and opportunities will winners receive?
The winning projects will be used in ETH-TECH educational materials and will be featured on the ETH-TECH website and social media channels.
Winners will receive a certificate of recognition, and their work may be showcased in exhibitions and workshops across ETH-TECH European universities part of the consortium. Also, a Seminar will be organized to make a public presentation of the work. The prizes are:
- 500 euro for the 1st place
- 400 euro for the 2nd place
- 300 euro for the 3rd place
- Honour Mention for the 4th and 5th place
In the case of group submissions (maximum 3 people), the prize will be divided equally among the participants. The team may also choose to present their work under a collective identity.
What are the evaluation criteria?
- Originality and creativity in visual representation.
- Clarity and depth of the accompanying explanation.
- Thoughtfulness in the description of the creative process, including the integration of AI tools if applicable.

Participation Terms
What should you know before submitting?
By submitting their work, participants grant ETH-TECH the right to use, reproduce, and distribute the visual cards for educational and promotional purposes, with appropriate credit to the creators.
Participants affirm that their submissions are original and do not infringe upon any third-party rights.
