At Padua University

We are delighted to announce the kick-off meeting of the ETH-TECH project, hosted by the prestigious University of Padua, one of Europe’s oldest universities in the continent.

Nestled in the heart of Padua, a city steeped in history and charm, the venue has provided a warm and inspiring atmosphere to launch our collaborative journey. Known for its historic significance and vibrant culture, Padua has made all participants feel exceptionally welcomed—a fitting setting to begin a project that seeks to blend innovation with ethical responsibility.

The meeting agenda focuses on advancing our planning efforts and bringing ethics into action through pedagogical practices. Representatives from each of our partner institutions—Helmut Schmidt Universität (Germany), MED Associazione Italiana (Italy), Universitat de Barcelona (Spain), and Universitatea Babeș-Bolyai (Romania)—are here with us, working side by side to propel Work Package 2 (WP2) forward.

Together, we aim to set the foundation for developing the ETH-TECH framework and self-check tools, which will help assess how ethical approaches to AI and data usage in education are currently integrated. This effort is critical to shaping meaningful educational strategies that prioritize ethics while embracing the possibilities technology offers.

As the meeting unfolds, the city of Padua and its rich academic heritage inspire our discussions, reminding us of the importance of balancing tradition with progress. Here’s to an exciting start and a shared vision for a brighter, more ethical future in education!
