Project Planned Activities

These are the main activities planned to implement the ETH-TECH project.

Awareness Raising Sessions (ARS)

Objective: Raise awareness among academics and students about the importance of ethical AI and data use in education.

Key Activities:

  • Producing reports from the sessions to guide course improvements.
  • Conducting participatory analysis of existing syllabi and teaching practices.
  • Organizing training sessions with 8–20 academics and 80–200 students.
ETH-TECH Framework

Objective: Develop a conceptual framework to support the integration of an ethical technology (ETH-TECH) approach in higher education.

Key Activities:

  • Creating data visualizations to facilitate dialogue on current gaps and future challenges.
  • Designing a conceptual framework to assess the ethical integration of AI and data in educational programs.
  • Developing self-assessment tools for institutions and educators.
ETH-TECH Meta-OER

Objective: Provide Open Educational Resources (OER) to integrate the ETH-TECH approach into initial teacher training programs.

Key Activities:

  • Building a digital repository for sharing and accessing resources.
  • Designing and developing OER covering the equivalent of 25 learning hours (1 ECTS).
  • Testing OER through pilot workshops and participatory review sessions.
Participatory Validation

Objective: Validate the ETH-TECH framework and OER through stakeholder engagement.

Key Activities:

  • Revising and optimizing materials based on the results of the educathons.
  • Organizing 8 educathons involving students, faculty, industry stakeholders, and citizens.
  • Collecting qualitative and quantitative feedback during participatory sessions.
Roadmap for Policymakers

Objective: Provide strategic guidelines to support the integration of the ETH-TECH approach in educational and institutional policies.

Key Activities:

  • Developing a roadmap based on the results of participatory validation and awareness-raising sessions.
  • Identifying key actions to promote the ethical use of AI and data in education, aligned with European regulations such as GDPR and the AI Act.
  • Engaging policymakers through presentation events, workshops, and strategic documents.
Blog

Objective: Create an accessible and dynamic platform to share updates, reflections, and insights on the ETH-TECH project with a broad audience.

Key Activities:

  • Developing a dedicated blog section on the project website.
  • Publishing regular articles on topics such as:
    • Ethical AI practices in education.
    • Updates on project progress and results.
    • Insights from Awareness Raising Sessions (ARS) and educathons.
  • Engaging contributions from project partners, including researchers, educators, and stakeholders.
Podcast

Objective: Provide an engaging audio format to reach diverse audiences and foster discussions around the ethical use of AI and data in education.

Key Activities:

  • Producing a podcast series aligned with the project’s themes, featuring:
    • Interviews with experts in AI ethics, education, and policy.
    • Testimonials from participants in educathons and ARS.
    • Discussion of best practices and challenges in integrating ethical AI into teaching.
  • Publishing episodes on popular podcast platforms (e.g., Spotify, Apple Podcasts), social media, and through dissemination events.
